The average price of standard diesel in Portugal is currently the seventh most expensive in the European Union. On the first working day of this week, it cost €1.82 per litre — a jump of 11% compared to the previous Monday. As a result, diesel has become more expensive than petrol, which is now selling at €1.78 per litre.
