FC Porto, winners of the Europa League in 2010/11, won 2-1 away at Stuttgart today in the first leg of the round of 16.
Terem Moffi (21′) and Rodrigo Mora (27′) scored for the blue-and-whites, who named only three starters from Sunday’s 2-2 draw at the Luz — Diogo Costa, Alberto Costa and Bednarek — while Deniz Undav pulled one back for the Germans on 40 minutes.
The second leg is scheduled for next Thursday, March 19, at 20:00, with the winner facing either English side Nottingham Forest, managed by Vítor Pereira, or Danish side Midtjylland in the quarter-finals.
