Writer and journalist Mário Zambujal died today, Thursday, at the age of 90.
Mário Zambujal died exactly one week after turning 90, leaving a mark not only on Portuguese literature but also on journalism, radio and television. Over more than five decades of activity, he built a body of work recognised for its subtle humour, elegant irony and attentive eye for human frailty. Across novels, chronicles and media programmes, Zambujal became one of the defining voices of Portuguese cultural life.
