Iran’s new supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei is “safe and sound” despite his injuries, the son of the Iranian president said today on the Telegram messaging platform.
“I heard reports that Mr Mojtaba Khamenei had been wounded,” wrote Yousef Pezeshkian, son of president Masoud Pezeshkian.

“I asked some friends who have contacts with him. They told me that, thank God, he is safe and sound,” added Yousef, who also serves as a government adviser.
Mojtaba Khamenei, Iran’s religious leader, is believed to have been wounded during the strike that killed his father, ayatollah Ali Khamenei, on the first day of the US-Israeli offensive on February 28. Details about the severity of his injuries remain unknown, and the new supreme leader has not appeared in public since.
