“The UN is yielding to the fatalism of warlords and has no place for peace lords,” criticized the Brazilian head of state, who also considered that the UN is “discredited.”

During an event in Brasília of the United Nations Organization for the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), Lula da Silva urged the five permanent members of the Security Council – United States, China, Russia, France, and the United Kingdom – to prioritize the fight against hunger instead of discussing how to arm themselves more, and criticized the stance of his American counterpart, Donald Trump.

“Do you think it’s normal for President Trump to spend the entire day saying: I have the largest army in the world and the largest ship in the world?” he criticized.

Regarding the UN, the Brazilian President again denounced the organization’s inability to convene a worldwide conference to discuss the various conflicts currently existing.

“Why would the war between Russia and Ukraine last four years when everyone already knows what the outcome will be?”, he questioned. “The Putin”[Presidente da Rússia]You will keep what you have conquered, Zelensky.[Presidente ucraniano]”will settle for what it has already lost and will have an agreement,” he predicted.

The United States and Israel launched on February 28 a military attack against Iran, having killed during the offensive Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the supreme leader of the country since 1989.
