The 2026 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition (2026 MIECF) will take place from 26 to 28 March at Cotai Expo, The Venetian Macao, under the theme “Low-Carbon and Zero-Waste Cities: Embracing Global Collaboration”. Organised by the Government of MSAR, the event seeks to support domestic and international enterprises in expanding partnerships and opportunities in the environmental sector.
Accredited by the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI), MIECF has strengthened its role as a regional and international platform for exchange and cooperation in environmental protection, providing exhibitors and buyers with access to global markets and green innovation projects.
Participants from previous editions have highlighted the event’s ability to bring together industry, universities and research institutions, creating favourable conditions for knowledge exchange and joint project development. Overseas organisations have also noted increased visibility and expanded cooperation networks through their participation.
Companies from Macao and Mainland China have reported tangible outcomes. A Macao-based recycled materials company secured partnerships with listed firms in Macao and Hong Kong, generating potential orders exceeding RMB 10 million (aprox. 1.2 million euros) and expanding its research and production capacity. A Zhejiang new energy technology company pointed to Macao’s role as a gateway to Portuguese-speaking countries and is considering establishing an operational base in the city. Meanwhile, a biotechnology firm from the Guangdong–Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin said it connected with European clients through the event’s green business matching sessions.
The 2026 MIECF is co-organised by the provinces and regions of the Pan-Pearl River Delta, with support from several national ministries, and coordinated by the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) and the Environmental Protection Bureau (DSPA) of the MSAR. In line with Macao’s strategy for appropriate economic diversification, this year’s edition will focus on green development in tourism and leisure and the four key industries, further promoting international cooperation in environmental protection.
