The remarks were made on Monday evening (10 February) during a meeting with representatives of the Macanese community. Sam Hou Fai noted that the past year, marked by the start of the current government’s term, saw a positive beginning, with stable and progressive economic and social development, achievements that were recognised by President Xi Jinping and the Central Government.
The Chief Executive highlighted the significant contribution of the Macanese community, particularly in the fields of cultural exchange, social services, law, education, and hospitality, emphasizing its unique role in Macau society.
Looking ahead, he indicated that the SAR Government will implement the spirit of President Xi Jinping’s speeches, align with China’s 15th Five-Year Plan, and advance Macau’s 3rd Five-Year Plan, focusing on public administration reform and appropriate economic diversification.
Sam Hou Fai also encouraged the Macanese community to actively engage in the development of the Hengqin Cooperation Zone and the Greater Bay Area, leveraging their cultural, linguistic, and professional advantages, and reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to improving the executive-dominated system under the “one country, two systems” principle.
