Away from coaching since 2018, following a stint in China, Fabio Capello, the legendary Italian manager with spells at Milan, Real Madrid, Roma, Juventus, and the England national team, said he believes something is missing in Cristiano Ronaldo when compared to other global football stars.
“Cristiano is a great goalscorer and an incredible athlete, but he doesn’t have the genius of Messi, Maradona, or Ronaldo Nazário,” he said on the Hat-Trick program on the Egyptian channel ON Sport. “The genius that the others had is missing in Cristiano. You cannot compare him to those three,” he added, as reported by the Spanish newspaper Marca.
