Prince William and Princess Catherine express concern over Epstein revelations

The Prince and Princess of Wales have issued their first public statement addressing the latest revelations about Jeffrey Epstein, saying they are “deeply concerned.”

A spokesperson for Kensington Palace stated that Prince William and Princess Catherine remain “focused on the victims” following the release of new documents related to the late convicted sex offender in the United States.

“I can confirm The Prince and Princess have been deeply concerned by the continuing revelations. Their thoughts remain focused on the victims,” the statement said.

Although the statement does not mention Prince Andrew or his former wife, Sarah Ferguson, it comes amid renewed scrutiny of the former Duke of York following a massive trove of documents released in the US. These documents reportedly show Andrew sharing confidential information with Epstein during his tenure as a UK trade envoy and include images and emails linked to his accusers.

The statement coincides with Prince William’s official visit to Saudi Arabia, a trip regarded as diplomatically significant. Royal aides are reportedly mindful that ongoing headlines around Epstein continue to increase pressure on the Royal Family. The brief statement is seen as an effort to signal awareness and concern while allowing the focus to remain on the Prince’s diplomatic engagements.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s long-standing friendship with Epstein, which continued even after Epstein’s 2008 conviction for a child sex offence, has been the subject of extensive media scrutiny. While Andrew has previously apologized for past ties, he has consistently denied any wrongdoing.

The latest US documents reportedly include a notorious photograph of Andrew with accuser Virginia Giuffre and Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell. They also suggest Andrew knowingly shared sensitive information from official trade envoy trips in Southeast Asia with Epstein, including visits to Singapore, Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and Vietnam, as well as confidential investment opportunities.

In recent months, Andrew has accelerated his move from Royal Lodge in Windsor to King Charles’s Sandringham Estate, amid increasing pressure from ongoing document releases and calls to cooperate with US authorities.
