China’s satellites were developed by GalaxySpace, a Beijing-based commercial firm. Following a successful deployment in August 2025, this mission highlights the vital role of market-driven commercial companies in China’s space endeavors.
“Satellite mass production capacity is key to the development of new space infrastructure,” said Hu Zhao, a chief designer at GalaxySpace.
Hu noted that by fully integrating digital processes at its smart factory, the company has streamlined operations from component production to final testing, significantly boosting efficiency.
Technologically, GalaxySpace is focusing on direct smartphone-to-satellite connectivity. The firm has developed specialized hardware, including antennas and solar wings, and has already launched over 40 satellites in China equipped with this technology.
