Macau’s 20th ‘hush! Beach Concerts’ to go alongside fitness festival in October

Macau will stage a two-day music and sports festival later this month, combining the 20th edition of its “hush! Beach Concerts” with the “Urban Sports Wellfest” in celebration of the city’s designation as a “Culture City of East Asia 2025”.

The event, jointly organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau and MGM, will run from October 18-19 at Hac Sa Beach and a nearby leisure area, featuring six stages for concerts, family-friendly activities and fitness programmes.

Nearly 40 local bands and 10 overseas acts are set to perform, including South Korea’s Balming Tiger, Japanese rapper Shing02, Taiwan’s Feng E, and China’s SUMMERWARZ. Representatives from major Asian festivals such as Hong Kong’s Clockenflap and China’s Strawberry Music Festival will also attend to foster regional collaboration.

The sports component will feature more than 30 professional instructors from across Asia, with activities ranging from yoga and dance to high-intensity training. Highlights include sessions by Hong Kong artist Fatboy@ERROR, Korean CrossFit athlete Amotti and yoga trainer Alex Lam. More than 40 classes will be offered over the weekend.

Organisers said the programme will also include SUP yoga, a glow run, art installations, workshops and food stalls, aiming to showcase Macao’s cultural diversity and blend of Chinese and Western influences.

Free shuttle buses will connect the venue with several districts, while admission to the concerts is free. Tickets for the sports activities start at MOP240 and are available through MGM and local ticketing platforms.

In the run-up to the weekend, community events including campus tours, concerts and workshops will begin on October 11. Registration for certain activities and for the “hush! 300 Seconds” short video contest closes on October 12.
