HK customs foils HK$28 mln smuggling racket linked to Macau

Customs authorities in Hong Kong have busted a smuggling case involving Macau, with the trade vessel found to have carried undeclared goods worth a staggering HK$28 million (US$3.58 million).

The seized items bound for Macau included electronic components, cosmetic injection vials, alternative smoking products, suspected untaxed tobacco, dried shark fins, and high-value ingredients.

As per official information provided by the Hong Kong authorities, customs officers on 9 May intercepted the vessel southwest of Hong Kong near Lantau during an anti-smuggling patrol.
