The speed detection systems are located on the Macau and Taipa ends of the main bridge, near the entrances and exits of the North Ang on-ramps to the main bridge, and within the motorcycle lane. These systems will be operational from midnight on Saturday. The speed detection systems have been reviewed and approved by the Higher Committee on Traffic and coordinated by the Transport Bureau and the Public Security Police Force. Signage has already been installed on the bridge to remind drivers.
The Macau Bridge has different speed limits for various sections: 80, 60, and 40 kilometers per hour. Some on-ramps and the tunnel section of the motorcycle lane have a maximum speed limit of 40 kilometers per hour. Authorities remind the public that violating the speed limits on the bridge can result in fines ranging from 600 to 20,000 Macau Patacas. Repeat offenders or those severely exceeding the speed limit may face driving bans.
