US President Joe Biden said this Sunday that the Covid-19 pandemic has ended in the United States. “The pandemic is over,” he said in a TV interview.
“We still have a problem with covid. We’re still working hard on it… But the pandemic is over. If you pay attention, nobody wears masks. Everyone seems to be in good shape. And because of that, I believe it is changing,” he said.
However, the president made those statements just weeks after his administration asked Congress for billions of dollars in funding to keep its testing and vaccination programs in view of a possible new wave in the fall.
