The official told Ukrainian television that all necessary measures will be taken for the meeting between Guterres and the presidents of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, and Turkey, Recep Tayyip Redogan, which will take place in the city of Lviv.
Yusov invoked Russian “provocations, artillery bombardment and airstrikes” during other leaders’ visits to Ukraine, as well as Antonio Guterres’ previous visit to Kiev.
He said military intelligence was preparing for “different scenarios” that could occur during Erdogan and Guterres’ visit, saluting both for giving what he considered to be a sign of support for Ukraine and for not being afraid of Russian attacks.
António Guterres’ visit comes after the agreement reached last month that allowed cereal exports to resume, after the Russian invasion blocked the global supply of these products.
