In Mangualde, at least six villages are already supplied by autotanks, but the number is expected to increase. The mayor states that “it is enough for one tap not to have water for the situation to be serious”.

Five municipalities are considering cutting off water during the night

The mayor of Mangualde confirms to TSF that the water supply may be suspended at night in the municipality. The decision, which may be taken soon, is one of the measures being evaluated to address the shortage of water.

“It is a situation that has not yet been placed but may have to be placed in the near future,” admits Marco Almeida. Heard by TSF, the mayor warns that the situation is very worrying and the trend is “getting worse.
