Three people were killed and six injured in a knife attack on Wednesday (3) at a kindergarten in southeastern China, local police said.

“Security forces are doing everything possible to capture the suspect,” the text adds. A video released by the state-run Beijing Daily newspaper shows a police officer carrying a child into an ambulance.

The ages of the victims were not disclosed. Large-scale violent crimes are rare in China, a country that has strict restrictions on the carrying of weapons. But several knife attacks have been reported in recent years.
