Lakers win Heat and win 17th NBA title, matching the Celtics
The Los Angeles Lakers team beat the Miami Heat 106-93 on Sunday, making it 4-2 in the NBA’s final series and thus winning their 17th American basketball league title. With this victory, the Los Angeles franchise equaled the Boston Celtics’ historic championship record.
After the defeat on Friday, in the fifth game of the decisive series, LeBron James led the Lakers on Sunday with a gala performance, scoring a triple-double, 28 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists.
At 35 years of age, the guard won his fourth career title, fulfilling his promise to take the California team to the top of the NBA championship, which has not happened since 2010, and to honor the late Kobe Bryant.
