Macao students return to classes from September 1st

Macao students will return to classes in September, with most schools reopening on the first day of the month, while the Portuguese School of Macau kicks off a week later, officials said today.

“Most schools will start in early September of the 2020/2021 school year, with more than 60% of them starting on September 1st, 15% on September 2nd, and the rest on September 3rd or after date, ”the Education and Youth Services Directorate (DSEJ) said in a statement.

Social detachment, mandatory use of a mask, as well as temperature measurement should remain mandatory in order to prevent the spread of covid-19, in a territory that has never registered any case of community transmission.
