Saniniu Laizer, a miner from 15 years ago, changed his life after finding three precious gems between June and last Monday. He sold them to the Tanzanian government for $ 5.4 million. Now he has a geologist working for him and business plans that include building shopping centers

The fortune came from the underground of the earth and the hard work of a miner. It was a sweaty lottery after 15 years of hard work in the mines. Saniniu Laizer is the lucky miner, Tanzania’s most famous instant millionaire. He was lucky in June when he found two precious gems and then a third one last Monday. The precious “boulders” were sold to the Tanzanian government for $ 5.4 million, as the BBC says.

Saniniu wanted to give back to the community part of his luck and had a school and a church built. The millionaire miner explained to the BBC why he wanted to invest in a school: “Children of farmers and shepherds do not attend schools because they are too far away and spend most of their time looking at animals”.

The miner is confident that he will find more precious stones, tanzanites, which exist only in northern Tanzania. He has a geologist working for him and now he looks at the mine work with the eyes of a businessman.

In its diversified business plan for the future is investment in the construction of shopping centers in the country. Envied by many, admired by so many others, Saniniu guarantees that working in the mines is far from easy. “It is very expensive to explore the mines. We often have to make loans and sometimes we raise money among ourselves as small-scale miners ”.
