Speech for a new Cold War

Last July 23 we saw a highly anti-China speech by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

Ironically, the location chosen was Nixon’s homeland, a regrettable decision given that the Richard Nixon Library and Museum are popular destinations with many Chinese tourists visiting Los Angeles, California. The charm and historical value attract visitors from almost as many parts of the world as Disneyland.

Nixon’s visit to China ended the 25 years of diplomatic silence between the two countries. It came to change the rest of the world forever, officially starting Sino-American relations. It was the most important moment in Nixon’s career as president, marking a major shift in the rivalry between the US and the Soviet Union.
