The Assembly of the Republic rejected the end of public money financing from bullfighting.
For the proposed bills, which include a Citizens ‘Legislative Initiative, political options are at stake regarding the way in which taxpayers’ money has been used in this anachronistic and violent activity, to the detriment of so many other areas that do not confront ethical values. and that are absolutely fundamental, such as Health, Education or Culture.
The bullfighting activity should never have been financed or benefited by the State, even less at a time when we are going through an unprecedented economic and social crisis and when so many sacrifices have been imposed on the country and the Portuguese.
