Russians want to sell Lenin’s mummy to pay for coronavirus

China and Vietnam are interested in buying, says an ultranationalist leader.

Russia is divided over what to do with Lenin’s body, exhibited in Red Square since 1924. The coronavirus has given a pretext for those who want to “get rid” of their mummy: selling the body to pay the bill for the coronavirus.

Vladimir Zhirinovsky, leader of the ultra-nationalist LDPR party (second opposition force in Russia), is the one who drives the initiative, which until now has not received support from other groups.
