Vaccine to be tested on humans in Italy this summer

A consortium of three European biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies plans to start human testing of a candidate for the vaccine against the new coronavirus (Sars-CoV-2) next summer, which begins in late June in Italy

The group is formed by Reithera, based in the metropolitan region of Rome, Leukocare, in Munich (Germany), and Univercells, in Charleroi (Belgium). “Currently, Reithera is carrying out preparatory activities to start phase 1 and 2 clinical trials in Italy during the summer of 2020”, says a note from the consortium
