Pandemic drags Portuguese inflation to 0% in March

The sharp drop in demand and oil prices due to the coronavirus pandemic and the conflict between Russia and Saudi Arabia dragged Portuguese inflation to 0% in March when compared to the price level of the same month last year, announced the National Statistics Institute (INE), this Monday.

It is not that this annual inflation was properly high in the recent past (it was around 0.3% last year as a whole and was only 0.4% in February).
