French President Emmanuel Macron has announced that a newly formed multinational force, designed to be deployed in Ukraine following the conclusion of its war with Russia, will begin training exercises in neighboring countries in the coming months. Speaking after a meeting of the Coalition of the Willing in Paris, Macron stated that the upcoming drills are intended to validate deployment strategies and demonstrate that allied nations remain ready, determined, and reliable.
The comprehensive military exercises will span land, air, and sea operations, serving as a clear signal that international allies are prepared to act swiftly in support of Ukraine once a ceasefire is officially achieved.
Macron emphasized that these drills are a critical component of the strategic planning for the multinational support force, which is specifically structured for post-conflict deployment to maintain peace and ensure regional stability.

Macron convened the high-level summit in Paris on Tuesday to gather leaders from the approximately 30 nations comprising the Coalition of the Willing, which includes Portugal.
The coalition’s primary objective is to formulate and implement robust initiatives that will provide Kyiv with enduring security guarantees, ultimately aiming to deter any future aggression once the current hostilities come to an end.
