The digital currency Bitcoin fell nearly 6% today, dropping back below the $60,000 threshold (approximately €53,000). By 18:48 (Lisbon time), Bitcoin was trading down 5.71% at $59,023.84.
On June 5, the digital currency stood at $59,101.30, registering a low not seen since October 2014.

In terms of year-to-date performance, the cryptocurrency’s price has retreated by close to 33%. When compared to its historical all-time high of $126,198.07, it has dropped by more than 53%.
