According to TMZ, Norris died on Thursday morning in Hawaii. A post on his Instagram account, cited by the outlet, read: “It is with heavy hearts that our family shares the sudden passing of our beloved Chuck Norris yesterday morning. While we would like to keep the circumstances private, please know that he was surrounded by his family and at peace.”
Born in Oklahoma in 1940, Norris served in the US Air Force between 1958 and 1962 before embarking on a career in martial arts and acting. He became a household name through a string of action films in the 1980s, including “The Delta Force” and “Missing in Action,” before achieving further fame in the 1990s as the lead of the long-running CBS series “Walker, Texas Ranger.”

He received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1989 and was made an honorary Texas Ranger in 2010.
In his final years Norris had stepped back from acting, though he remained active on social media. Just ten days before his death, on his 86th birthday on March 10, he had posted a video of himself sparring in Hawaii. He is survived by five children, including actor Mike Norris and NASCAR driver Eric Norris. His mother died in 2024 and his first wife, Dianne Holechek, passed away in December 2025.
