Israel and the United States today struck a major Iranian gas installation in the Gulf — the largest in the world — causing a fire, state television announced as the war enters its third week.

“Moments ago, some parts of the gas facilities” of the strategic South Pars refinery, located in the port city of Kangan, “were hit by projectiles from the American-Zionist enemy,” the television station reported, citing the deputy governor of the southern province of Bushehr. Firefighting teams were dispatched to the site to bring the blaze under control.
