Apart from the platform, MGTO also released online a “Guideline for Macao Educational Tour Services” and a “Guideline for Design of Macao Educational Tour Courses”, prepared following a 2024 study conducted by the China Tourism Academy. The documents aim to support the industry in developing educational tourism products.
The new platform, initially open to local travel agencies, provides organised information on available study resources and themed sample itineraries, facilitating the design of study visit programmes and promoting resource sharing.
Meanwhile, the Macao Grand Prix Museum introduced a educational tour course for primary school students, featuring guided tours and themed activities lasting two and a half hours, conducted in Cantonese. Schools may participate free of charge, while other organisations are required to purchase tickets in accordance with the museum’s pricing scheme.
The initiative forms part of Macao’s “1 + 4” economic diversification strategy, with MGTO stating it will continue to promote “tourism + education” products to enhance the city’s appeal as a study tour destination and diversify visitor markets.
