Being remote: One in five women worked from home at the end of 2025 in Portugal

Nearly 575,000 women were teleworking in the last quarter of 2025, which corresponds to about one in five employed women (around 22%)

In the fourth quarter of 2025, almost 600,000 employed women worked from home, representing 22.8% of the female workforce, according to the study prepared by the Commission for Equality between Women and Men to mark Equality Week and International Women’s Day, based on data from the Portuguese National Statistics Institute.
