Organized by the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), the event will run daily from December 6th to January 11th across three districts, featuring 28 installations themed “Lightscape • Horizon.”
MGTO said the initiative is designed to attract residents and visitors into different neighborhoods between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. each night, creating new nighttime consumption opportunities and enriching Macao’s positioning as a world centre of tourism and leisure.
The Nam Van District will feature the “Starlight Route,” a cluster of installations around Nam Van Lake and the Anim’Arte NAM VAN promenade. The displays will combine motifs of the Maritime Silk Road, constellations and artificial intelligence, forming what organizers describe as a “poetic dialogue” between technology and cultural heritage.
In the Northern District, the “Light Paradise” theme will illuminate the Waterfront Duet Leisure Area, the Rua do General Ivens Ferraz leisure zone and the Fai Chi Kei Northern Bay Recreational Area. Installations in this area will integrate references to Macao’s World Heritage architecture and traditional Sino-Portuguese culture, accompanied by community-driven activities.
ZAPE will host the “Dazzling Party,” featuring light structures as well as a themed weekend carnival offering coffee and Macao signature delicacies along Rua de Luís Gonzaga Gomes, Rua de Xiamen and Rua de Nagasaki. MGTO said the program aims to highlight the district’s role in Macao’s designation as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy.

The Macao Grand Prix Museum will add a nightly 3D mapping show projected on its façade, with a six-minute program running every 15 minutes. Organizers said the display will reinterpret elements of Macao’s cultural identity in a “journey across time and space.”
To support visitor movement across the three districts, MGTO will offer two free Light up Bus Routes. One will operate from Luso International Bank in the central district to ZAPE, while a circular route will connect all event zones. The buses will run from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on weekends and designated festive days, departing roughly every 30 minutes.
A series of flash events, workshops, outreach programs and social-media check-in activities will be held throughout the month-long festival. MGTO will also launch the ZAPE Christmas Wonderland, a seasonal street zone with themed installations, interactive elements and festive lighting. The event aligns with other community-focused initiatives, including “2025 Luminescent Night at Travessa do Armazém Velho” and the “Northern Winter Market,” which aim to increase foot traffic and strengthen nighttime consumption.
MGTO said it worked closely with government bodies, community groups and building associations to coordinate logistics, crowd management and noise control. The organizer added it will comply with Macao’s environmental noise regulations and conduct on-site patrols and lighting tests to minimize disturbance to nearby residents.
