The “Enterprise Global Expansion Service Center” and accompanying “Macao-Zhuhai Scientific and Technological Achievements Exhibition Base” were unveiled at the Macau Youth Entrepreneurial Incubation Center.  The project is spearheaded by the Centre for Science and Technology Exchange and Cooperation between China and Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CSTCP).

The initiative is a key part of implementing the “Macau R&D + Hengqin Transformation + Zhuhai Implementation + Global Market” industrial development model, organizers said.

This initiative is a strategy for economic diversification, where Macau’s research and development are leveraged in Hengqin for industrial transformation and commercialization.

The hub aims to provide a “one-stop” platform for Chinese firms seeking international growth, offering professional support to access markets in Lusophone nations.

“The centre will create a vital window for cross-border exchange and cooperation,” a statement from the organizers said, highlighting its goal to showcase high-tech achievements from the Macau and Zhuhai region.

The ceremony was attended by officials from Macau’s Economic and Technological Development Bureau (DSEDT), the Zhuhai Science and Technology Innovation Bureau, and the Hengqin Guangdong-Macau Deep Cooperation Zone, with representatives from several Chinese tech firms, including Livzon Pharmaceutical Group and Gaojing Solar, also present.

The China-Portuguese-speaking Countries Science and Technology Exchange and Cooperation Center is a national platform for international science and technology exchange and cooperation under the DSEDT, with service centres in Macau and Hengqin.
