The CreatorWeek Macao 2025 programme, jointly organised by the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and the international media production company Branded, took place at Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau.

The two-day event featured the CreatorWeek Conference and the Creator Academy and focused on cross-border exchange, platform trends and practical skills for creators and industry stakeholders.

The CreatorWeek Conference concentrated on the integration of Chinese and Western social media cultures, platform evolution, monetisation and the current and future outlook for the creator economy.

Major speakers included Ben Wong (Chief Marketing Officer, Google Greater China); Evan DeFilippis (Vice President of Strategy, MrBeast/YouTube); Benny Chu (Head of Industry, Greater China, Meta); and Aiden Qin (founder, YChina/Boom Technology), among others.

The Creator Academy delivered practical workshops on quality content creation, audience building and brand collaboration, leveraging Macao’s Chinese–Western cultural features.

Featured speakers included Bing Chen (CEO & Co-founder, Gold House), Apl.de.Ap (founding member, Black Eyed Peas), Hudson Matter (photographer and founder of NextWave Media) and Saket Jha Saurabh (Director of Content and AR Partnerships, Snapchat).

Local sessions addressed short-video positioning, an overview of the local content sector, account management strategies and professional conduct on Chinese social platforms.

Local supporting bodies including the Macao Youth Media Association, Macau Live Streaming Association, Macau Internet Communication Association and Macau Live Streamer and Influencer Association facilitated participation by local creators and new-media producers, supporting skills transfer and sector development.

Under the Ambassador Recruitment Programme, 20 Macao ambassadors were paired with 20 international and Greater China creators including the Stokes Twins, ISSEI, Will Liu and Nick DiGiovanni to produce location-led content.

These collaborations explored neighbourhoods, local cuisine and experiential workshops, creating content that showcased Macao’s travel experiences and extended the city’s visibility to global audiences.
