According to projections from the Public Security Police Force, the city’s border checkpoints will handle an average of 700,000 to 750,000 crossings per day. Of the total, about 1.2 million entries are expected to be visitors to Macau, averaging 150,000 per day. Police officials stated that coordination with Zhuhai and Hong Kong authorities will be strengthened to manage both pedestrian and vehicle traffic. Crowd control measures will be implemented at busy tourist areas and moon-viewing locations if necessary.

Customs data indicate that outbound traffic surges are likely on September 30th from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., and on the morning of October 1st. Inbound peaks are anticipated on October 7th between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. Average daily vehicle traffic is projected at about 14,000 crossings through the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge, 12,000 at Hengqin Port, and 9,500 at the Border Gate checkpoint.

The Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) reported that hotel bookings for the Golden Week remain strong. Authorities have conducted joint inspections and publicity campaigns across departments to safeguard service quality.

To assist visitors, the MGTO publishes a weekly “Mainland Visitor Overnight Index” on the “Macao Tourism Data+” platform, and encourages travelers to use the “Smart Flow” app to check real-time crowd levels at 113 tourist sites, promoting staggered travel. Industry stakeholders, including guides, travel agencies, and hotels, have also been engaged in preparatory meetings to ensure smooth operations throughout the holiday period.
