The bureau stated that it will issue a one-time payment of MOP18,000 to the first group of eligible applicants for this year’s child care allowance.

The Macau government provides this subsidy to encourage childbirth and offer partial financial support to families with infants and young children. The allowance is granted to parents or guardians of infants born between two thousand twenty-two and two thousand twenty-five who hold a Macau permanent resident identity card.

As of July 31st, the Social Affairs Bureau had received and approved thirteen thousand applications. The authorities anticipate the total disbursement via bank transfers will amount to two hundred thirty million patacas. For applications submitted between August 1st and June 30th of the following year, the subsidy will be released within sixty days of approval.
