The Legislative Assembly Electoral Affairs Commission (CAEAL) marked the opening with the “Election Campaign Kick-off Day” event, held at Tap Seac Square. Commission president Seng Ioi Man urged all candidate lists to actively promote their political platforms in full compliance with the law, strengthening interaction with voters in order to gain their support.
The event was attended by the Commissioner Against Corruption, Ao Ieong Seong, several commission members, and the Director of the Postal and Telecommunications Services, Lau Wai Meng. At the venue, candidates presented their political programs, with campaign booths set up and mock polling stations installed for residents to experience the voting process. The CCAC also hosted an anti-corruption awareness area, while the Post Office provided a temporary booth with commemorative stamps and envelopes.
Speaking to the media, Seng Ioi Man stressed that the electoral process has so far proceeded in an orderly and lawful manner, assuring that CAEAL will continue to monitor campaign activities closely in cooperation with the relevant authorities. He further underlined that each resident’s vote will be decisive in forming the new Legislative Assembly and ensuring the stable implementation of the “one country, two systems” principle under the guideline of “Macau governed by patriots.”
The Commissioner Against Corruption, Ao Ieong Seong, also emphasized that the CCAC has maintained intensive monitoring and prevention work since June, through on-site activities, online promotion, and media campaigns, to ensure that citizens are aware of the regulations and risks of electoral corruption. She assured that the body will continue to mobilize resources to prevent and combat potential irregularities during the campaign.
