According to the new policy, permanent residents of Macau with children aged 0 to 3 years can receive a monthly subsidy of 1,500 patacas, totaling 18,000 patacas per year. This measure aims to alleviate the financial burden on young families and encourage childbirth.
The report also announced various adjustments to social benefits, including an increase in health voucher amounts from 600 to 700 patacas; an increase in the pension for the elderly to 10,000 patacas annually; and an increase in the retirement pension to 3,900 patacas per month.
In terms of support for childbirth, the birth subsidy has been raised to 6,500 patacas, and the marriage subsidy to 2,200 patacas. Benefits for people with disabilities have also been significantly increased, with the common disability subsidy rising to 10,000 patacas annually, the special disability subsidy reaching 20,000 patacas, and the disability pension being increased to 3,900 patacas per month.
It is important to note that some existing benefits remain unchanged, including the cash sharing plan of 10,000 patacas for permanent residents and 6,000 patacas for non-permanent residents, as well as the one-time activation amount of 10,000 patacas for the non-mandatory pension fund and an additional injection of 7,000 patacas.
