The ITTF Men’s and Women’s World Cup Macao, sanctioned by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) and organized by the Sports Bureau of the Macau SAR Government, Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG), and the World Table Tennis Management Group Limited, was a resounding success. The event attracted overwhelming attention, with the semi-finals and finals witnessing full attendance.
Mr. Ma Long and Ms. Sun Yingsha, representing the China national table tennis team, emerged as the men’s and women’s singles world cup champions, respectively, following seven days of intense competition. The esteemed winners were honored at the awards ceremony attended by prominent guests, including Mr. Ho Iat Seng, Chief Executive of the Macau SAR, and Ms. Petra Sörling, President of ITTF and Member of the International Olympic Committee, among others.
To further promote Macau’s fusion of “tourism + sports,” GEG and the organizers arranged a series of extended activities, enriching the overall experience for participants and spectators alike. The “100 Days to Paris” event, held at the Outdoor Lawn near Galaxy Macau, offered a unique opportunity for international tourists and local residents to engage with Olympic champion table tennis players, Ma Long and Chen Meng, who shared their aspirations for the upcoming Paris Olympics. Autograph sessions featuring leading table tennis players Liang Jingkun, Wang Manyu, Shin Yubin, and Adriana Diaz were held at the East Square of Galaxy Macau, creating an electrifying atmosphere for table tennis enthusiasts.

During the event, several autograph sessions were held at the East Square of Galaxy Macau, where the world’s leading table tennis players were invited to interact with and present autographs to table tennis enthusiasts, creating a lively atmosphere.
GEG invited students from the Macao University of Tourism to join the “Backstage Tour” activity, in which the students paid attention to the staff's introduction to the settings and functions of various work areas behind the major sports event.
GEG invited members from various community groups to watch the matches at the Galaxy Arena, experiencing the passion of table tennis sport.
GEG also demonstrated its commitment to fostering sports engagement among the community by inviting local youth from the Macao University of Tourism to participate in the exclusive “Backstage Tour” activity. Students had the chance to visit various areas, including the training hall, press conference hall, and field of play, interacting closely with the participating table tennis players and capturing memorable moments with the event trophies. Additionally, over 600 members from 20 local social service organizations were invited to witness the matches on-site, accompanied by dedicated GEG volunteers, as part of efforts to promote sports exchanges in the community.
The return of the ITTF Men’s and Women’s World Cup to Macau marked a remarkable addition to the city’s portfolio of international sports events. This was the first time the men’s and women’s singles matches were held in Macau, and it also marked the debut of a top-tier international table tennis tournament at the Galaxy Arena. The Galaxy Arena, Macau’s newest, most advanced, and largest indoor arena, received high acclaim from organizers, staff, players, and all involved parties. Its state-of-the-art software and hardware equipment provided an extraordinary and unforgettable experience for all spectators.
