According to the Cape Verde Civil Aviation Agency, there was an increase of more than 20% in the allocation of flights to the country.
Among the international operators are, for example, TAP and Sata, Tui, Veuling, Binter Canárias and Albastar, in addition to TACV, the flag carrier of the Portuguese-speaking archipelago.
The Cape Verdean government announced that in the first quarter of this year alone, the country’s four international airports registered around 656,000 passengers.
Cape Verde has international airports in São Vicente, Sal, Boa Vista and Praia, in Santiago, and airfields in São Nicolau, Maio and Fogo.
Tourism accounts for 25% of the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), which in 2022 received a record 835,000 tourists, in a recovery after the losses caused by the pandemic.
