After being applauded by the entire plenary of the European Parliament, Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukraine shares “the European way of life” with the remaining 27 Member States.
“This is our Europe, these are our rules, this is our way of life […], and this is the way home. I am here today to defend the way home for our people, for all Ukrainians, of all ages, of all political persuasions, of all social strata, of all religious persuasions, we all share this common European history.” .
Zelensky accused Moscow of wanting to “annihilate it with an all-out war”, ending “the way of life of 27 countries”, but said that Ukraine “will not allow it”.
“This total war is not for territory in this or that part of Europe”, he warned, adding that in Russia “there is a dictator, with immense resources and reserves of Soviet weapons and other dictatorial regimes, specifically Iran”.
