If you receive Asian seeds in the mail, do not plant or throw them in the trash

The Portugueses Ministry of Agriculture has warned that postal packages of seed from Asian countries have been sent, which have not been requested, asking that they not be sown or thrown in the garbage, but forwarded to the directions of agriculture.

“The Ministry of Agriculture warns of the sending, by post, of small packages of seeds, unsolicited, from Asian countries. This situation is also being reported in several countries of the European Union and by third countries ”, underlined the executive, in a note released by the Directorate-General for Food and Veterinary (DGAV).

In addition to the seeds of various species, the packages may contain soil, dead larvae or fungus structures.
