The Attorney General’s Office (PGR) is investigating, in collaboration with the Swiss authorities, a series of cases and deals involving the insurance company AAA of Carlos São Vicente, including the 900 million dollars blocked in Switzerland
A source at the institution told Jornal de Angola yesterday that the PGR and the Swiss authorities have been working on sending and receiving rogatory letters around the process.
According to the source, who was reacting to information about the $ 900 million freeze belonging to the former PCA of the insurance company AAA, dissolved in February, Carlos Manuel de São Vicente, the PGR is not only seeing the issue of money seized in Switzerland , but also several cases linking AAA with Sonangol, workers and pension funds.
On the $ 900 million currently blocked in Switzerland, attributed to the former president of AAA, the source confirmed that this was initially this amount, but it could be much more. The source of Jornal de Angola also confirmed that it was the Angolan authorities that triggered and requested the freezing of accounts.
