WHO warns that vaccines should only appear in the second half of 2021

Technicians from the World Health Organization affirm that it is necessary “realism in the expectations” in relation to a vaccine and that “all the precautions” will have to be taken to guarantee that it is absolutely safe.

The head of the World Health Organization’s Sanitary Emergencies program said on Wednesday that there will be no vaccines for covid-19 before the second half of 2021, despite “signs of hope” in ongoing clinical trials.

In a question-and-answer session on the Internet, Michael Ryan said that “realism in expectations” about a vaccine is needed and that “every precaution” will have to be taken to ensure that it is absolutely safe.

“Realistically, we will not have people to be vaccinated until the second half of next year,” he said, noting that there is an increasing number of vaccines passing the so-called phase three of the tests and being tested on human volunteers.
