Reds benefit from Manchester City’s defeat at Chelsea.
This Thursday Liverpool were crowned English champions after 30 years, after Manchester City’s 2-1 defeat by Chelsea, in a match for the 31st round of the Premier League.
Chelsea opened the scoring in the 36th minute through Pulisic, with Manchester City equalizing in the perfect free-kick by Kevin De Bruyne, at 55 ″. However, at a time when the citizens were above the game, the blues came to triumph, through a penalty, converted by Willian, at 78 ″.
With this result, the reds, who would become champions if City did not win, thus conquer the English championship 30 years later. Note that yesterday, Wednesday, Jurgen Klopp’s men had beat Crystal Palace 4-0, with goals from Alexander-Harnold (23 minutes), Salah (44 ″), Fabinho (55 ″) and Sadio Mané (69 ″).
