The English team opened the scoring with a goal from Anthony Gordon in the 55th minute. However, the South American side responded in the closing stages of the match with goals from Enzo Fernández in the 85th minute and Lautaro Martínez in the 92nd minute, both assisted by Lionel Messi.

In an unprecedented final scheduled for Sunday at 3:00 PM local time (8:00 PM in Lisbon) at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, Argentina—making their appearance in the final following previous runs in 1930, 1978, 1986, 1990, 2014, and 2022—will face Spain, who defeated France 2-0 in the other semifinal.
