Jamaica defeated New Caledonia 1-0 and will face the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo) in the final qualifying match for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with a spot in Portugal’s group at stake.
In the intercontinental play-off semifinals in Guadalajara, western Mexico, on Thursday night, Jamaica scored the only goal at the 18th minute through Bailey Cadamarteri.
Jamaica will now play DR Congo in the play-off final on Tuesday. The winner will qualify for World Cup 2026 and become Portugal’s first opponent in Group K on June 17 in Houston.

Portugal will then face Uzbekistan on June 23, again in Houston, and Colombia on June 27 in Miami.
The 2026 World Cup will be held from June 11 to July 19 across the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
