Pope Leo XIV visits Angola between April 18 and 21

Pope Leo XIV visits Angola between April 18 and 21, announced on Wednesday, February 25, the president of the Episcopal Conference of Angola and São Tomé (CEAST), José Manuel Imbamba, expressing joy at the visit of the Catholic Church leader to Angola.

The information was advanced at a press conference in Luanda by the Angolan Catholic archbishop, who invited the faithful to actively participate in the reception and activities that will be developed in the Lusophone African country.

According to the Angolan Catholic Church, Leo XIV will have meetings with the Angolan President, João Lourenço, along with the religious community and civil society, and will also visit the Muxima Sanctuary and the Angolan province of Lunda Sul.

Leo XIV will be the third Pope to visit Angola, following John Paul II in 1992 and Benedict XVI in 2009.
