The Philippines involved external countries outside the region to organize so-called joint patrols, which, according to Beijing, have harmed regional peace and stability, said Zhai Shichen, spokesman for the Southern Theater Command’s People’s Liberation Army of China.

Forces under the command of the theater of operations will resolutely safeguard China’s territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests, as well as firmly maintain the peace and stability in the region, added Zhai.
