On Wednesday, February 11, 2026, the Armed Forces of Ukraine estimated that they had inflicted approximately 1.25 million casualties, including killed and wounded, on Russian forces since the invasion of February 24, 2022, while Moscow has not released official figures for several months.
“The total enemy combat losses (…) up to February 11, 2026, were 1,249,380, including 820 in combat recorded in the last 24 hours,” the Kyiv General Staff published on social media.
The report also stated that Russia has lost 11,661 tanks, 24,020 armored vehicles, 37,148 artillery systems, 435 aircraft, 347 helicopters, 28 ships, and 2 submarines, though “these figures are still being updated.”
Last week, President Zelensky said that more than 100,000 people have been killed in total since the start of the conflict, including civilians, and that there is “a large number” of people considered missing.
“We are talking about tens of thousands of deaths, over 100,000. Officially, on the battlefield, the number of soldiers killed, whether career military or mobilized personnel, is 55,000. There is also a large number of people considered missing,” Zelensky said in an interview with France 2.
On the night before, the refinery of Russian oil company Lukoil in Volgograd was reportedly attacked by Ukrainian drones, according to the independent Telegram channel Astra, based on photos posted by witnesses on social media.
“According to Astra’s analysis of witness photos, the Lukoil-Volgograd Refinery in the Krasnoarmeiski district of Volgograd was hit and caught fire,” the channel reported, sharing images and explanatory maps. Astra noted that this was the ninth Ukrainian attack on the facility since February 2024.
Although the information has not been officially confirmed by the local governor, Andrei Bocharov, he acknowledged on his Telegram channel that Russian air defenses “repelled a massive drone terrorist attack overnight against energy facilities and civilian infrastructure.”
Bocharov added that during the attack, several apartments, a daycare center, and a factory in the southern part of the city were damaged, but there were no human casualties.
The Rostov region also experienced a large-scale attack overnight, according to Governor Yuri Slusar, who said that Russian forces repelled Ukrainian strikes in 12 towns and localities.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that 108 long-range Ukrainian drones were “intercepted and destroyed” during the night, nearly half (49) over Volgograd and 29 over Rostov. The remaining attacks affected 11 other Russian regions and the Black and Azov Seas, according to the Russian military command.
The war, initially described by Russia as a “special military operation to demilitarize and denazify” Ukraine, has now lasted almost four years, focused mainly on the border regions, following Russia’s annexation of Crimea in 2014.
